Looking for a t-shirt worthy of your message? Might we suggest a sturdy 5.4 oz. 100% cotton t-shirt from Gildan, featuring seamless rib collar, shoulder-to-shoulder taping, double needle sleeve and bottom hem? In other words, they're built to last.

Or perhaps you prefer a Hanes heavy-weight Beefy-T? Or a baseball jersey? Visit us at our store in Hadley, Massachusetts to look at samples or browse our online catalog. We are able to order many styles and types of shirts, or may be able to print on shirts you provide yourself.

On request, we can store screens for up to two years, so if you are likely to re-order the same design, let us know and save future screen making charges.

Only need a few shirts? Bring us your computer file or photo and we can do same or next day photo transfers on an in-stock shirt, or bring your own (recommended: 100% cotton, white or a light color).

Photo Transfers

For small quantities or photographic reproduction, consider a photo transfer. We can use your digital artwork or scan your drawing. This can often be done in one day.

Since the transfer is printed directly from your computer file or scanned image, there's no need to make screens or digitize an embroidery file. You can use your own T-shirt or one of our stock shirts. Photo transfers are recommended for white or very light colored fabrics, as the cloth color will show through the image (though we have had very good results with our new machine and transfer material doing transfers on black shirts; however, we can not guarantee results on dark materials). Further, 100% cotton fabric is best as the image is heat-set and synthetic fabrics such as nylon or spandex may melt or warp in the heat.

Golf Caps, Baseball Caps & Other Hats

Suitable for either screen printing or embroidery, caps and hats are another great way to promote your business or commemorate a special event. Less expensive than jackets, these are a great option for sports teams or businesses that work outdoors, such as landscapers and construction workers.

Tote Bags, Messenger Bags
& Beach Bags

Custom printed bags are a great promotional item. Your customers will love them, while displaying your message all over town! We are able to provide screen printing or embroidery on a wide range of tote bags, shopping bags, messenger bags and beach bags. Custom insulated lunch bags are great for schools. Tote, shopping and messenger bags are great for conferences and workshops or to sell in your store. Visit us in Hadley to look at samples or browse our online catalog.

Note that if you supply your own bags, we can not guarantee how long printed images will last. Some bags don't have the dye set into the cloth; when the dye washes out, so will the image printed on it. Other bags may shrink slightly, causing embroidery to 'pucker'. For best results, let us supply the bags! If you supply your own, wash them in hot water at least three times before bringing them to us to print or embroider.

Screen Printing vs. Embroidery

The first major difference between the two processes is price. The setup costs and digitizing fees for embroidery are often more than for basic 1 or 2 color screen printing.

If embroidery is your choice make sure to pick a substrate (t-shirt or bag material) that is thick enough to support the stitching. Screen printing is more suitable for lighter weight materials.

Screen-printing is a print process where a design or logo is transferred to the substrate by way of a screen. The printer will transfer the inks through the screen to the garment to achieve the desired result. The process involves exact pressures, specialized inks, and heat curing to result in a long lasting design. Because of the heat curing, we are unable to screen print on nylon or other materials which may melt or warp.

Embroidery is done using a computerized stitching machine. The design is digitized, telling the machine when to switch colors, what kinds of stitches to use, etc. The material to be embroidered must be heavy enough to support the stitching your design requires.

Photo transfer is exactly what it sounds like. A color transfer is made from your design and heat-set onto your shirt. Photo transfers are suitable for small quantities and photographic images.

Cost Saving Tips

  • Print fewer colors - each color requires additional set-up time and materials.
  • Print in fewer locations. Each location (front, back, chest pocket, sleeve, etc.) requires additional set-up and materials.
  • Order light colored T-shirts - printing on dark colors may require flashing (printing once with white to create a light background for the design, then again to put the design over the white) to keep the colors bright.
  • Order in larger quantities whenever possible, as this reduces the per piece cost. The set-up charges stay the same, but are divided between that many more pieces.
  • Use Sunraise for the best service and prices!
